Dianne Sosa joins ERT in Business Development Role

Dianne Sosa led business development for Orbital ATK and Lockheed Martin Information Technology, before joining ERT, Inc. in January to help CEO Jingli Yang grow the 23-year-old science, engineering and IT contractor through new business and adjacent market expansion.

Based in Laurel, Maryland, the woman-owned small business counts NASA, NOAA and the U.S. Defense Department among its clients.

Sosa got her start in space as a NASA contractor supporting a space shuttle program just starting to fly its first missions. She later joined NASA’s early International Space Station effort and, after getting an MBA from Embry-Riddle, went to work on DoD programs including the Joint STARS battle management aircraft.

NEW JOB: Vice President of Strategic Pursuits, ERT, Inc.

OUTSIDE INTERESTS: Serving a second year as president of the Women In Aerospace Foundation.

PERSONAL: Lives in Annapolis, Maryland, with husband William Maule, retired Army pilot and now author.


NEW YEAR, NEW NAMES

TELENOR SATELLITE BROADCASTING changed its name Jan. 25 to TELENOR SATELLITE reflecting a broader portfolio that also includes the maritime and energy sectors. UNIVERSAL SPACE NETWORK, meanwhile, is now SSC SPACE U.S. INC. The name change follows SWEDISH SPACE CORP.’s 2009 acquisition of the Pennsylvania-based space operations company.

The Society of Satellite Professionals International will induct six new members into the Satellite Hall of Fame in March.
